Location

The Capo Calavà  Tourist Village is located on the Tyhrennic Coast of Sicily, 5 kilometers from Gioiosa Marea (province of Messina), immersed in a perfumed and shady garden of lemons, figs, eucalyptus, and bougainvillea. It directly overlooks the lovely beach , bathed by the crystalline sea and bound by the evocative promontory of Capo Calavà , with its soft, sloping hills covered by ancient olive groves, and on the horizon, a view of the beautiful Aeolian Islands.
The sea, nature, and landscape around the village are magnificent: the Capo Calavà  village is in the heart of the Saracen Coast, the section of inland coast between Gioiosa Marea, Tindari, the Capo Calavà  promontory, the Bay of San Giorgio and the beaches of Piraino, Brolo, and Capo D'Orlando.

There are many itineraries on which you can explore the ocean, the hills, and the surrounding cities and towns. Along the coast, long beaches alternate with rocky promontories, surrounding evocative bays. All around you is the crystalline sea, its blue tones growing to an even more intense blue, only to paint itself red in the evening, when the sun sets in the waters of the Tyrrhenian. And just visible on the horizon is the slender profile of the Aeolian Islands. Small sailing villages dot the coast and in the lovely Bay of San Giorgio the tuna nets bear witness to the ancient vocation of the tuna fisherman and of the fish caught here. Brolo and Piraino, towns just a bit inside of the coast, preserve medieval treasures such as the ancient castle tower of Brolo, which defended the residents from the raids of the pirate Barbarossa and the Saracen Tower of Piraino. At Tindari the archeological park protects the Greek and Roman origins of the city, represented by a theatre, hot springs, gymnasium and other ruins, while from the Marine Sanctuary, one can enjoy a marvelous panoramic view of the Laghetti di Marinello.

The lively Gioiosa Marea is 10 minutes from the Tourist Village Capo Calavà. There you can visit the ancient town of Gioiosa Guardia, and enjoy the beautiful landscape that dominates the Saracen Coast. A scenic path begins here, running through an ancient muletrack, and finally descending to the coast near the Vacation Village Capo Calavà.
